Mountain Bike Coaching Sessions
2024 MTB Progression Sessions are GO!!!
My mountain bike progression sessions provide coaching options for riders of different ability level and focus.
NOVICE - IMPROVER
These sessions are designed as a progressive programme that aims to support riders who are new to mountain biking, or those who've ridden off road for a while, but who don't possess the skills and/or confidence to progress onto more technical terrain. These sessions can also offer a welcome refresher or 'tune up' if you haven't ridden in a while and feel that your skills might be a bit rusty.
Session dates and content are:
-
Saturday 9th March - Trail Riding Fundamentals
-
Saturday 30th March – Correct Cornering Technique
-
Saturday 20th April - Technical Trail Riding
The sessions will take place at Lochore Meadows, Fife, and will run 1pm – 4:30pm.

INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCED
Intermediate riders are anyone who, as a minimum will find blue grade trails fun, fast and easy. They will relish the challenge of red grade trails and may venture onto the occasional black trail. All of these sessions are suitable for more advanced riders too, and are a great way to get rid of bad riding habits, or to fine tune your technique.
Session dates, content and venues are:
-
Sunday 10th March - Drops @ Deuchny Woods
-
Sunday 31st March - Advanced Cornering @ Ballo Woods
-
Sunday 21st April – Finding Flow on Advanced Terrain @ Hallyburton
These sessions will run 10am – 1:30pm.

XC RACE CRAFT
Aimed primarily at those planning to race SXC, the technical coaching and rider support works for everyone whether you are a racer or recreational rider. I've got 2 sessions planned initially, with scope for more based on interest.
-
Sunday 7th April - Lochore Meadows.
-
Sunday 18th August - Comrie Croft.
The coaching fee for all MTB progression sessions is £55/rider/session, or riders can sign up to two or more sessions for a reduced fee of £50/session. All sessions are limited to a maximum of 6 riders to ensure a high level of individual coaching support.

Group Road Cycling Workshops
Bunch, chaingang, peloton; whatever the collective noun you use to describe a group of cyclists, the bottom line is riding with friends or club mates can be a very pleasurable experience, not to mention safer and more efficient. However it can also be a bit stressful if you are not confident riding in a group, or indeed if others in the group lack basic group riding etiquette and skills.
My group road cycling workshops are designed to address those problems, supporting everyone to understand how the group should ride together, the ways in which we move as a group, communicate with one another and other road users, and how we can maximise the safety, efficiency and social enjoyment of riding with friends. Sessions are designed for between 4 and 8 riders and can be tailored to meet your group’s exact needs.
To arrange a session for your club get in touch.
Prices for group coaching sessions start at £12.50/rider and vary depending on the session type, duration and location.
