2026 Mountain Bike Coaching
MTB Winter Workouts
-
Winter Trail Craft. Sunday 1st February at Hallyburton woods, nr Coupar Angus.
-
Drops. Sunday 8th February at Deuchny Woods, Perth.
-
Pump and Jump. Sunday 15th February at Glenrothes Pump Track, Fife.

Winter Workouts are half day adult MTB coaching sessions. There'll be video footage for you to review and enjoy after the session plus my usual terrible banter. Sessions are limited to a maximum of 6 riders to ensure a high level of individual support. This year I'm including Winter Trail Craft which very much does what it says on the tin. We'll cover the fundamental techniques of confident trail riding but with the added focus of learning how to adapt our riding to more challenging slippery winter conditions.
Mountain Bike Progression Sessions
The sessions are designed to support riders to develop great technique so that you can get the most from your riding whether you are a recreational trail rider, or if you race Enduro, DH or XC. I have two levels of Progression Sessions, 'Novice - Improver' and 'Intermediate+'.
Novice - Improver sessions are designed for riders who are relatively new to mountain biking, or those who've ridden off road for a while, but who don't possess the skills and/or confidence to progress onto more technical terrain. These sessions can also offer a welcome refresher or 'tune up' if you haven't ridden in a while and feel that your skills might be a bit rusty.
-
Trail Riding Fundamentals. Saturday 11th April
-
Pump and Flow. Saturday 25th April
-
Technical Cornering. Saturday 9th May
-
Technical Trail Riding. Saturday 23rd May
All the Novice - Improver sessions will take place at Lochore Meadows Country Park, Fife.
The sessions can be attended as standalone options, but are designed as a series, supporting riders through the progressive stages of taking their riding from a novice level to be confident and capable of riding more technical trails.
Intermediate+ sessions are for riders who, as a minimum, will find blue grade trail centre trails fun, fast and easy. They will relish the challenge of red grade trails and venture onto the occasional black trail. All of the Intermediate+ sessions are suitable for more advanced riders too, and are a great way to get rid of bad riding habits, or to fine tune your technique.

Group Road Cycling Workshops
Bunch, chaingang, peloton; whatever the collective noun you use to describe a group of cyclists, the bottom line is riding with friends or club mates can be a very pleasurable experience, not to mention safer and more efficient. However it can also be a bit stressful if you are not confident riding in a group, or indeed if others in the group lack basic group riding etiquette and skills.
My group road cycling workshops are designed to address those problems, supporting everyone to understand how the group should ride together, the ways in which we move as a group, communicate with one another and other road users, and how we can maximise the safety, efficiency and social enjoyment of riding with friends. Sessions are designed for between 4 and 8 riders and can be tailored to meet your group’s exact needs.
To arrange a session for your club get in touch.
Prices for group coaching sessions start at £12.50/rider and vary depending on the session type, duration and location.
To discuss your specific requirements and arrange a tailor made group session please get in touch.
